Dollar campaign

Happy Holidays!

It’s the most wonderful time of year! (Well, let’s hope so.)

What can a dollar buy you today:

- a bottle of water

- a small hamburger at McDonald’s

- an item at the 99c store (excluding tax)

It’s hard to make an impact with a dollar today, but that small bit of money can help a great deal.

I know that many organizations are doing their large fundraising campaigns now and you may have already allocated your donations to a particular organization. That is why we are enacting this Dollar Campaign.

If everyone donates a dollar, we are that much closer to our fundraising goals.

Recent times have not been kind to many of us. Arts funding is uncertain, so we need your help more than ever.

As a budding dance company that officially formed in January of this year, we have accomplished quite a lot. We’ve performed at two Open Performance showings through Movement Research, two community performances and workshops at Salvation Army in Sunset Park in Brooklyn and PS 153 also in Brooklyn, shot a dance film, taught dance & repertory workshops in Singapore, self-produced at the Cunningham Studio Theater, performed in the 60X60 Festival at the World Financial Center in Battery Park, a informal performance at Snapple Theater Center Studios and Dance New Amsterdam, and hosted benefit parties at Common Ground and Stone Creek Bar and Lounge. For our first year in existence, it’s quite the resume!

And we want the show to go on. Because we are gearing up for our upcoming season performance at Cunningham Studio Theater in March, we still need to raise another $700. We have raised $580 so far and would be eternally grateful if you contribute any amount that you can.

Here are some examples of our diverse financial needs:

- $10 gives us rehearsal space for one hour

- $50 helps us create costumes for dancers

- $300 allows us to prepare a full-length performance, including technical needs

- $1500 grants us the ability to stage a full-length performance over a weekend

We are asking you to donate a dollar, or more if possible, so we can continue with our season and bring the passion we have for dance to you either in performance or through video.
